Except that since the people pushing for them to end their relationship in China includes CAIR, which enough Americans probably think is a Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood connected terror group, it won’t get any traction, so they won’t pull out unless it proves to be unprofitable.
Tesla isn’t different from any other capitalist venture. Profits are first, always, people dead last.
Indian government tells Starlink to refund pre-orders placed before licences approved
The Indian government has reportedly told Elon Musk’s internet satellite company, Starlink, to refund pre-orders it could not yet fulfil because it didn’t have the licences.
Starlink had been gearing up to provide the internet services in India, registering its business on 1 November, advertising and even pre-selling subscriptions.
That feels wonderfully symbolic of something. I hope centuries from now it’s something art history students look at, so they can ask their professors what the hell was up with early 21st century America, and receive sad confused shrugs in reply.
Musk is one of our actual problems. An influencer of the worst kind, with far too much reach and unchecked power. On balance, every one of his ventures is making things worse. Even those which are potentially net positive, because of the way he undertakes them. He needs to be watched, and the people who are in a position to do something about it need to be made aware of the threat he poses, and prodded into action. Otherwise our best bet is that he gets so high on his own bullshit that he kinda implodes.
Well, he doesn’t mean that men should be INVOLVED in their children’s lives… just that women should be at home fulfilling their natural duties… men should be at work, saying racist, sexist things… duh! /s
Another example of Musk being a petty piece of shit.
One of the associates at a law firm that does work for Tesla used to be a SEC lawyer who was part of a probe against Musk and his company (a probe that resulted in Musk stepping down as chairman and paying a $20 Million fine). When Musk realized this individual was now working for the firm his company hired he tried to personally intervene to get that lawyer fired.
