Tesla slashes vehicle and self-driving-ish software prices as shares plummet
[ā¦]
Whether Teslaās troubles are only linked to a changing EV market isnāt necessarily the case, though. Tesla recently announced plans to kill its low-priced Model 2 vehicle ā a seemingly ideal move when consumers want lower priced electric cars. Instead, Tesla seems to have dumped all its eggs in the self-driving basket, with Musk proclaiming Tesla would unveil a new robotaxi in August.
Analysts werenāt impressed. Deutsche Bankās Emmanuel Rosner downgraded Tesla from buy to hold while also lowering its price target from $189 to $123. The reason for the downgrade, Rosner said, was the Model 2 and robotaxi news.
Come tomorrow, and Teslaās earnings call, we might just see how low those shares can go.
Hopefully enough to force a margin call on Elmoās loans.

Like that was ever in question. Thereās no way he wouldnāt do everything possible to try to monetize it.
Soon to be a tier on whatever theyāre calling check marks these days.
While Iām not sure about one country ordering a world-wide takedown, I am sure that X should have content rules that block that kind of video. (Perhaps they still do, but Space Karen wants to have a dick-swinging contest?)
Even Gab takes down that kind of video. (Iām assuming that itās a killerās snuff video. Iām not going to look for it.)
Proving that whatever rules X has against posting graphic violence, or claimed support for free speech, Space Karen is the arbitrary arbitrator.
ā¦ the idea that, because Dumb Old Government hadnāt previously noticed the commercial internet, therefore it would somehow exist outside mundane authority forever, was always absurd
Yeah, maybe if they move all the servers and routers to Planet Stupid.
The video was of a 16yo boy who went to an Assyrian Church service in Western Sydney which was being livestreamed, and went to stab the bishop who was leading it.
This was a couple of days after the Bondi Junction stabbing attack.
The bishop and a priest were wounded, but are already out of hospital. The boy was injured (possibly in the attack, possibly when the attending parishioners grabbed him), and is being charged under terrorism laws (although we know nothing else about him, his background, or his motivation). Because the service was being livestreamed, hundreds of angry people turned up demanding that the boy be handed over to them for ājusticeā, and police and attending ambulance responders were injured in the subsequent riot.
The government wants to block the footage everywhere partially because terrorism, and partially because the community in question has already kicked off a literal riot about this, and do not need to be further aggravated.
All the parties are in more or less unison on this: Labor and the Greens want the footage of the actual attack to be banned so as not to make a bad situation worse. The Liberals, normally āyou have the right to be a bigotā freeze peach absolutists when it suits them, want it banned because otherwise the scary brown people something something. Thereās one dickhead in parliament whoās actively retweeting it, but heās also a xenophobic anti-vaxxer from the āwe would be fascists but weāre not smart enoughā party. Also Matt Canavan of the Liberals is complaining about it being banned, but he may as well be in the WWBFBWNSE party.
The footage of the attack per se isnāt banned (there are blurred or cut-off versions on most of the media sites (here for example), just not the raw unblurred footage of the actual moment of stabbing.
If you sold more, wouldnāt you have more to use in that āsupercomputerā?
