How can a state deny federal anything?
Oh right, we’re not a functioning democracy with laws anymore.
That’s a feature, not a bug. The Biden government sues, and Oklahoma pols get to point fingers and say “See! They’re trying to force this stuff on you! We tried to save you!”
I mean, there were so many folks who would have gladly accepted COVID pandemic unemployment assistance, but certain states refused to cooperate with a federal handout.
Right? And I i think DeStankis even paid for that Flying Migrants stunt with the interest collected on unspent Covid-relief funds sent to his state.
Sheriff Tommy Ford has responded after the agency accidentally caused an explosion at a bonfire during Mosley High School’s homecoming.
“Tonight, there was an incident at Mosley High School where the annual homecoming bonfire exploded. This has been a tradition at Mosley started by a previous school resource deputy and was without incident until tonight,” Ford said in a statement. “The deputy that set up the bonfire has done so at Mosley for the last 7 years. We are not sure yet what caused the explosion, but take responsibility for the incident.”
Damn.
WTF was in there? That was a big explosion
ETA: big for a smallish bonfire. Not big compared to say, the explosion at Freeport LNG
The bridge, as WSOCTV reported on Monday, had been washed away in a storm several years ago and was not repaired because it was neither maintained by the state of North Carolina or the city of Hickory.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol was also reported as saying that there were no barriers in place warning drivers about the sudden drop because vandals had removed the previous signs.
When Maps takes you on those backroad shortcuts…
Ugh, that’s horrible.
They couldnt have dropped a couple of Jersey barriers on the road? Wow.
