Republicans: rolling everything back to the glorious '40s.
The 1840s.
â According to the DOB, the building had active permits related to electrical work on the premise, though no active violations. The building obtained its certificate of occupancy in 1957, though that certificate allows for five or more cars to be on each floor â and footage from Tuesdayâs collapse showed well over five cars, with dozens seen in the collapsed rubble.
A look into the building violations associated with the garage shows that most have been addressed over the decades, and the few that were still listed as open were quite old. However, those violations do give a sense of deterioration over the years inside the building that dates back to 1925, especially as it relates to concrete.â
â The garage is a location where the New York Sheriffâs Department parks their vehicles, New York City Sheriff Anthony Miranda told News 4 New York. All members of the department are accounted for.â
Iâm sure that licensing was as vigorous in their enforcement of standards with law enforcement as they are with the general public.
when i signed up for health insurance this year, i thought i was selecting the same plan i had last year, and instead wound up with one that doesnât really cover anything until the (somewhat high) deductible. *sigh*
i can see a doctor fine. anything and everything other than that is out of pocket.
it really shouldnât be this difficult to get basic healthcare

No it should not be âŚ
(I should put there, since I did get good health care there too⌠in the 60âsâŚ)
And yet more of this. Getting common enough to start deserving its own forum subject.
Police are searching for a man who shot a 6-year-old girl and her father this week in North Carolina, injuring the girl in the face and causing her father to be hospitalized.
Children were playing basketball on a street in Gaston County on Tuesday when the ball rolled into the manâs yard, angering him, the family and neighbors told local broadcasters, and he ran down the street firing a gun.

Iâm sorry to hear this. My employer makes me go through an re-select all my options every year. Thereâs no guide to âhereâs what you currently have.â Itâs such a stupid system.
did u just question the efficiency of the free market to deliver good health careâŚ
You get employer-based healthcare options? Lucky!
(Iâm messing with you, but Iâve only had 3 years total with employer healthcare, so itâs true Iâm a little jealous.)
You are right, though. Weâre incredibly lucky to have the problem we have.
We had one that sounds like that. High deductible combined with an HSA. The gamble was to try to get the HSA funded up to the level of the deductible before you actually needed it. After that it was OK, I guess. Problems came up when we had folks who couldnât afford to fully find the HSA, and would up getting screwed over. You are absolutely correct, it should not be this hard.
