Random warehouses seldom have the type of HVAC and other special systems required for animal, biological, or research labs employing dangerous pathogens. They were up to no good, imo.
Yes, it’s bizarre. Reedley is a smaller town in southern Fresno County. The closest med school is the one at UC Merced that is set to launch this year. That school is close to 90 miles north of Reedley.
There are many agricultural labs throughout the Central Valley (I worked at one in Fresno County during my college years), but an highly infectious disease lab anywhere in Fresno County makes me suspicious.
Stuff like residential schools, I first heard about them as something of the 1930s. “Horrible, thank goodness they’ve stopped.” Sixties Scoop, “Uh, they’ve stopped, right?” …
Indigenous genocide, it’s standing right behind me, right now, isn’t it?
This is true of far too many types of inequity and inhumane treatment. It just shows how those in power really control the narrative delivered to the masses. At the moment I can’t think of a single horrible practice (mostly committed against members of marginalized groups) that’s truly been eradicated. Hell, we’ve got the forces of misinformation bringing almost-eliminated diseases back from the brink, too, but as long as they don’t mention any outbreaks they figure we’ll believe everything is just fine - until we’re not.
They got a $700 million dollar loan from Trumpy’s Treasury department which they’ll never pay back but are trying to blame the upcoming bankruptcy on the union.
Wonder how much of the $700 million went to Trumpy and Mnuchin?
If that elevator isn’t repaired within a week, there should be hell to pay. Honestly, it should be repaired within a day, but I’m willing to cut them some slack if it’s a smaller, more indie theater. If it’s a major one, like AMC, then no. They should have that fixed within a day. No excuse. I spent half my childhood in a wheelchair. And most of that was before the ADA was passed. I remember the US when inaccessibility was the norm. I remember having to be let in through the back employee’s only entrance of my home town’s post office. I remember not being able to go to the movies at all. The ADA has been one of the true legislative success stories in our nation’s history, and we’re letting it get watered down, and it’s going to die if we’re not careful.
