Fuck Today, Continued

Very true, although the inhalation risk is also there since these are sprays.

Hard to believe that organic chemists used to degrease their hands with a benzene rinse back in the bad old days… probably just before smoking an unfiltered cigarette and/or quaffing a coffee spiked with absolute EtOH.

With no snow in Colorado yet this season, it could be even drier in California over the summer.

I guess the good news is that they caught it before people died. The bad news is folks apparently still think maintenance is just an optional waste of money. :man_facepalming:

Why life in this country is so hostile to single people

Agreed, this is overall good news, but deferred maintenance is the cancer quietly eating away at our built environment.
Ain’t late-stage capitalism grand? We can just pillage all the resources and live off the work of those who came before, and we don’t have to put anything back into the system!

I have frequently thought that we (collectively) are the spoiled kids wasting all the previous generation’s resources, producing nothing ourselves, and outraged at the idea that we actually have a responsibility, any responsibility, for anything that does not directly benefit us. It is incredibly frustrating to look at what the WWII generation built, all the highways and bridges, the landgrant universities, the scientific advances, and then consider what we have allowed to happen to those monuments over our time with them. We are not representing ourselves well, and our children and grandchildren will not think well of us for it. Assuming, of course, we leave them a livable world at all. Sigh. Sorry, having a bad day today…

No need to apologize. I feel the same way, and sometimes about our species in general, not just us spoiled USians.
We are disappointing, but also magnificent. That’s the rub. That we should (collectively) know better, but we don’t.
Hope you get some time this weekend with nature or family or whatever it is that charges your batteries and keeps the darkness at bay.

Could one argue that the Texas Comptroller’s office is a “state agency” and collecting taxes from a company constitutes “conducting business” with that company?

easier answer in texas because they don’t have with state taxes for individuals. everything is property tax based

that’s part of why most years they get more federal money per capita than they give, and why whether you get state services ( like good public schools ) depends a lot on whether you live in an a wealthy suburb ( high property tax revenue ) or not

It happened in Marseille, where LAPD Chief Michel Moore and Assistant Chief Robert Marino were walking the streets after dinner with their wives, along with two LAPD officers as security detail.

god bless them. france is such a dangerous and god forsaken place. who knows what personal sacrifices they made to travel all that way to protect the chief and his assistant

“hey, you and your girlfriends want an all expenses paid trip to paris for christmas? i still owe you both for covering up that laundered drug money”

oh wait. that was a different police chief also with the last name of moore? so sorry. im sure the new guy is completely on the up and up

Also… people need to make up their minds… either overpopulation is a threat or underpopulation is a threat… which is it?
