The trend echoes similar ones in Japan and other countries where young people have embraced anti-materialist lifestyles in response to bleak job prospects and bruising competition for shrinking economic rewards.
So when most of the rats decide to leave the race, will they improve the cheese or find ways to force them back onto the wheel? The way corporations and banks have undermined the buying power of workers, it surprises me that they didn’t see this coming - and figure out a way to monetize that, too.
