Norway were supposed to be the hardest team for England to beat in group A. England are almost certain to finish top of the group now, unless there are some improbable results in the final two games.

Someone reminded of this classic Magno Viera goal for Carlisle United goal last night. It’s best watched with the audio muted and Yakety Sax playing.

Not a sport involving balls, but…

These look fucking cool as hell…

The Carlisle United friendlies continue to look promising.

Bolton were the first real test, playing one league higher than Carlisle are.

The game against Greenock Morton was more of a behind-closed-doors joint training session, but I should mention that too.

Ex-Carlisle players don’t usually make it to any of the European giants (except for English teams), I’m struggling to think of anyone who has made it to be honest

Sydney McLaughlin’s stride is the most efficient I’ve seen since Edwin Moses. Her head does not move, her arms are in perfect position. It’s deceptive because she is running so smoothly that she seems slower than she is.

I think that her efficiency can bring her time down under 50 seconds, but she is also thinking about pivoting to the 400 meters because that record is well within her grasp. Whatever she decides to do, she will be fun to watch!

She runs faaster over 400 meter hurdles than some world class runners run the open 400 meters!

The Crypto FC owners are not making a good impression.

I honestly feel sorry for the Crawley Town fans who have to endure this.

I’m going to be away for a few days, so I’ll not be commenting on the opening day of the new season tomorrow
