Official statement from Notts County
This whole thing has been weirdâŠ
Texan town with a failing school system decided to spend 95 million dollars to fix the problemâŠ
Nah iâm just kidding. They decided to spend that 95 mil on a high school football stadium instead
Out damned spot! out, I say
The expected takeover date is November 25th, and the PurePay debt will be paid. Hopefully Carlisle will then get someone who can score goals in the January transfer window.
63% drawing? All they have to do is practice scoring one more goal per match and theyâll be on top.

We didnât need the distraction of a cup run. League one survival is more important. Iâm not upset at all, really.
At least we werenât Swindon.

Losing 4-7 to a non league team is a major shock, possibly one of the all time shocks, but Aldershot were 7 goals ahead at one point.
ETA:
Aldershot are the first non-league team to score seven goals against a league team. The first in 135 years of the EFL existing!
Also, 8th tier Ramsgate have made it to the second round, beating National League side Woking. Comparing it to League football, it would be the equivalent of Crewe beating Chelsea.

1980, the year when the Copa del Rey final was Real Madrid v Real Madrid
Before 1991, reserve teams were treated almost as separate entities in Spain. Although they were never allowed to compete in the same division as their clubâs senior team, they were allowed to enter the Copa del Rey, or the Copa del GeneralĂsimo as it was known during the Franco dictatorship.
Generally, however, the youth teams failed miserably in the cup, rarely making it out of the first round. They were never allowed to be drawn against their senior team, with draws having to be redone if a senior team and its youth team were pulled out of the hat together. The only way a youth team could face its relative was if it reached the final, something that would never, organisers believed, happen. But happen it did.
Amazing achievement.
Allan Ross went from the fourth tier to the first with Carlisle United, which I can only describe as âCompleting Football on Hard Modeâ. There was no real fifth tier at that point, just several amateur level leagues where teams could apply to join the professional league if they did well enough, and were usually turned down. Carlisle were one of the lucky ones back in 1928.
Mpanzu deserves credit for going one better, from the fifth tier to the first.
