I’m mixed on this. On the one hand it’s sorely needed. Our public transit situation is a joke. On the other hand, Jesus H, yet another bump to our already insane sales tax.

Yay, we get to waste more money on light rail. I’m sure that project will wrap up someday. Maybe it’s one of those “deep time” things, where you have to live 10,000 years to appreciate it. Like that pitch drop thing.

Hang in there and good luck to you. I was myself in a seemingly bottomless downward spiral for several years at the end of which I was despondent and suicidal. It’s taken years but shit does get better. Whatever else you do, do be there for your wife, do have a child whether now or later and be a good father. Job trouble, all that will be there but seem so much less significant. In success or poverty, if you can stand tall in front of your wife and child you’ll have what is best in life.

While we are talking about local stuff, it looks like fucking Dennis Richardson has won the race for Oregon Secretary of State. We now have a Republican who doesn’t believe in LGBTQ rights, thinks a woman’s right to control her own body is forfeited the moment of conception, and wants to enact voter ID laws because “voter fraud is a massive issue” in a position that controls our state elections. I don’t know if I even have the energy to be angry anymore.
