Generic 2016 US Election Cycle Recycling Bin

Yup, I’d say that’s true over here too.

seconded to what @anon67050589 said.
while living out in the boonies isn’t my thing, at least to my experience I get way more hate/fear of the city from suburban tract home people than proper living in the country people.

I wonder if the DOE could develop a system to harness energy from heads exploding.

Once upon a time when we had the budget for it, the salespeople and the CSRs would get together for dinner downtown, around the time of the annual sales meeting. Most of my colleagues live in the 'burbs (for people who know Portland: Beaverton and beyond), and every time, they would fuss all day about having to drive downtown. They would insist on leaving an hour before the scheduled time (downtown is like ten minutes away). There is nothing difficult about getting around downtown Portland. IT’S A GRID. But OMG after you park you have to walk a few blocks sometimes, and you might see some homeless people. So they just never go there and it freaks them out.

So… they were talking about the lobbyist ban today on NPR and how that didn’t work out with Obama’s administration when they tried something similar. But what if they are banning lobbyist so they don’t have to work with K Street and can instead bring in their own marginal operatives, like Bannon, who have no connections to current power structures, but plenty to the alt-right?

Am I getting too paranoid here?

Starting to think it’s not possible to be too paranoid anymore.

Trump picks AL Senator Jeff Sessions for AG. You might recall during the Sotamayor approval process, that there was that deranged senator who suggested that empathy was the quality of partisan Democrats. That was Sessions. He also has a long history of racism, and called the NAACP and ACLU un-American.

The Trump short list is quite the love-in.

It’s possible, but until there’s evidence suggesting otherwise I’m going to assume that for Trump the point of the grift is to reward himself and his friends as much as it is to punish his enemies. But, yeah, if he bans the lobbyists, I’d guess it’s because he wants to replace them with alt-right/marginalized outsiders that are even worse.

Love-in, hate-in, something like that.

I’ve thrown up in my mouth a little bit so many times in the last few months that I’m getting to be a connoisseur of vomit.

Or not paranoid enough? This whole thing is so fucked up it is hard to know how crazy it will be.

I am already so tired of this. I think that’s their plan.

There’d be a good argument that we haven’t demonstrated any so this seems okay.
