While it’s awesome to see a new generation of animators influenced by the amazing work of Masaaki Yuasa, this piece feels perhaps a bit too indebted to that artist’s stuff.
That said, folks who enjoyed this, would likely love the series Kaiba, my Masaaki Yuasa, which this short is largely cribbing from (right down to the idea of memories as fluids released by bodies). It’s streaming on Amazon Prime, and is fantastic:
