"Grab them by the pussy!" Trump was caught on hot mic boasting about what he did to women

Exactly. I’ve heard “locker room banter” praising a woman’s tits or sexual athleticism or creative blowjobs but never bragging about assault.

More to the point, he wasn’t in a fucking locker room! He was on a TV show! Even if Bill Clinton has said worse “on the golf course,” which I strongly doubt, he wasn’t dumb enough to do it on camera!

Ah only the best non-apologies.

Dear Trump Supporters,

What are the excuses now? Let’s detail them, shall we (will be edited periodically to capture arguments I might have missed):

He said this YEARS ago!

Eleven to be exact. Hardly ancient history. Also, he said them shortly after he married his current wife. Additionally, a woman alleged sexual assault and unwanted advances in 2010… and specifically at the time called out his use of Tic Tacs (now confirmed in this video as his go-to move). Hey Melania, are you going to stand by your man and wait for him to drop you like a hot potato for the next young thing he can grope and kiss with his tic tac flavored lips? Or are you going to call him out on these comments?

Bill Clinton, interns and cigars!

Checking the ballot, let me see… hmmmmm… OK, this is strange, but I don’t see that Bill Clinton is listed. I see a Hillary Clinton, but then, she seems to have been a victim of her husband’s actions, too. If you want to push this narrative, you’ll lose to the narrative of “spurned wife who found a way to forgive her husband.”

Hillary Clinton was abusive to the women Bill abused!

It’s true, Hillary did take Bill’s side often when these allegations came out. And its quite possible - even probable - that the allegations were true. But that then plays into the “she loved her husband and trusted him” logic that so many marriages are built on. Powerful people are often unjustly accused of things by those seeking fame, fortune or both. I suspect she regrets those attacks now, but I don’t think blaming her for them when she didn’t know at the time they might be true works in Trump’s favor.

But they WERE true!

Yeah, but you need to PROVE it.

But Benghazi!

Now you’re just reaching.

It was just locker room banter!

Yeah, see, I’ve been in locker rooms. I don’t remember guys talking about the details of their rape activities, at least not where I could hear it. And this wasn’t a locker room… or a golf course (to head off the inevitable redirect back towards Bill of course). This was while about to be interviewed for a “journalism” show (celebrity entertainment… not really high journalistic standards of course).

They were illegally taping him!

No, they were prepping for the shoot, and its common to run some test shots ahead of time and get things working right. This is also called “blaming the messenger” and rarely works (though conservatives have worked hard to make it a “truth” that we all know and have been moderately successful in doing so).

But Trump was just an entertainer then, this is just him entertaining!

Given that he was in “the business of show”, you’d think he’d know they had the cameras on already for test shots. Doesn’t strike me he’s particularly smart in this example, you might want to redirect again at this point.

They were just trying to head off the wikileaks stuff!

Yeah, I’m sure the wikileaks stuff from the other day really showed Hillary to be a horrible human being. Ummmm… no, not as such. Just the stuff we already pretty much knew about her before Bernie forced her to pivot more to the left. And, strangely, she seems to have STAYED left since the end of the primaries, so maybe she really has reflected and changed her mind on things like the TPP. Stranger things have happened.

Rap lyrics say worse things, they are responsible for this horrible destruction of public discourse!

Looking at the ballot again… shit, no, sorry, I don’t see “Rap Lyrics” as a candidate this election cycle. Nor do I see: “Rock Music”, “Jazz Music”, “Comic Books”, “Video Games”, “Television Shows”, “Violent Movies”, etc, etc, etc. Let’s stick to talking about what Trump said.

But what about Benghazi!!!

Yeah, just… no. Please stop embarrassing yourselves.

If tic tacs are his go to thing before committing assault, perhaps overdosing is responsible for his unnatural hue?

Okay, finally watched the full video.

Every single time I watch him, he comes off more as a psychopath. A narcissistic psychopath. A guy who has no sense of empathy, and who has a cobbled-together theory of mind, and lives only for attention.

I did notice that the “Rap lyrics are worse” argument has emerged from the faceholes of Trump’s more dedicated apologists and fluffers. Apparently it is all the fault of rappers, eroding the level of discourse, this is why we can’t have nice things.

Not everyone is reassured by this excuse and a number of Republican candidates are trying to distance themselves from Trump, even de-endorsing him, for fear of being dragged down in the slipstream of his declining popularity.

One seldom sees an example of shits leaving a sinking rap.

In other words, he doesn’t want to win the election. He’s already won, because people are paying attention to him.

And what fucking pisses me off is that ignoring him is a very dangerous tactic. Typically you can starve these kinds of trolls of attention. Typically they fuck up and don’t have enough of an audience to bait. But trump can’t be safely ignored due to his large rump constituency. He’s figured out how to game the trolling system by having just enough people behind him that he’s a legitimate threat.

If he gets to the oval office, he’ll have immense power he has no idea how to wield, and he’ll be looking for more attention. Because that’s how a narcissistic psychopath operates. He’ll be very pleased with his ability to talk to people and not get shat on quite so hard, and he’ll actively want more attention. So, likely, he’ll do some things looking for attention that’ll start some wars he’ll want to be involved in.

I grew up with psychopaths. They don’t fear failure. They can’t consider the possibility of failing, and when they talk about possible outcomes, the only non-expendable person is themselves. And even then, people with a trump level of intelligence don’t even have a good handle on keeping their own ass covered.

Damn right he’d be bad for our democracy, damn right he’d start wars. And I don’t doubt for a second he’ll be the most treasonous [by constitutional definition] president we’ve ever had.

Clinton had CONSENT. Trump’s boasts, even IF they are only boasts, mock the very idea of consent.

How can Republicans still score points with “he did it first!”?

How juvenile is 30-45% of the electorate that they can completely avoid questioning their ‘team’ with this simple ploy?

Consent is such a ‘PC’ concept to many Trumpettes that this may actually help reinforce their deplorable identity.

Doubling down against the women-coddlers and their ‘consent’

Don’t associate the doubledown with trump. Some people [who are literally sick with heart disease] love that “sandwich”.

As long as there’s ketchup on it, amirite?

Wait, people willingly consuming something that’s really, reeeeeally bad for them should not be associated with Trump?

I haven’t experienced the sandwich, but it looks like Trump’s culinary equivalent:

  • mouth-watering for some

  • disturbing to others

  • bad for all concerned

I’m absolutely willing to say that it’s wrong, and shouldn’t even exist, but like a .500 Smith and Wesson magnum revolver, plus ammo, I’ll buy it and consume it, even though it hurts me every time.

BTW, have you ever shot a really big pistol? It’s not fun. I shot a .500 S&W magnum. Actually I shot 20 rounds from one. And every single shot was like getting hit across the hands with a baseball bat. No fun at all.

I’ve made bad mistakes and learned from them.

The average trump supporter never learns anything from any experience.

I haven’t, but that squares with what I’d expect from the physics.

I sincerely hope that they can learn!

That was his lawyer, actually.

Trump’s done enough deplorable stuff, we don’t need to make more up.
