@discbot roll 3d6 vs Dodge-12 for the second attack

@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 8 vs Dodge-12 for the first attack (5,2,1)
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 15 vs Dodge-12 for the second attack (5,6,4)

Whoops…roll for damage. :slight_smile:

Don’t forget the -2 to swing damage due to Defensive Grip.

Wow, good timing … just stopped for a quick check before breakfast and heading out!

@discbot roll 1d6 for damage

(Which I just noticed, with the -2, is the same for swing and thrust.)

@awfulhorrid the d6 dice reads: 2 for damage

That’s a lot of ā€œme being wide open for a hitā€ for a lousy 2 points! (Even if it is with a -2 to be hit.)

Step into close combat, all-out attack (double), telegraphic grapple the torso (both arms) and a telegraphic knee strike to the groin. :slight_smile:

Grapple is against DX-14, lowered to 12 by shock, raised to 16 by telegraphic.

Knee strike is Brawling-1 for 14; shock penalty lowers that to 12; telegraphic raises it to 16. Knee strikes can target the groin of a foe grappled from the front at no penalty.

If the grapple succeeds, it adds an All-Out Attack (Strong) bonus to the knee strike, as per the Grab and Smash sidebar in Martial Arts.

@discbot roll 3d6 vs 16 to grapple
@discbot roll 3d6 vs 16 to knee

@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 14 vs 16 to grapple (5,4,5)
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 14 vs 16 to knee (2,6,6)

Knee strikes do thr/cr damage, plus Brawling bonus (none in this case), plus 2 for the Grab & Smash.

So, 1d6 damage, but with doubled shock penalty (maximum -8) and you’ll be at -4attack/-2defend due to the grapple.

@discbot roll 1d6 for damage

@Wanderfound the d6 dice reads: 4 for damage

…which puts you at -2HP with a -8 Shock penalty. Time to roll for consciousness…

Ouch! Well, I did say reckless, didn’t I?

OK, @discbot roll 3d6 vs HT (10) for consciousness

@awfulhorrid the 3d6 dice reads: 8 vs HT (10) for consciousness (4,3,1)

Well, at least I’m still conscious (for now.) This would be an ideal time to try at attack, except for all those inconvenient penalties for being grappled and in shock. Honestly, there’s not a lot I can do except try to Break Free.

Quick Contest of my ST(10) vs. your ST+5 (15) … no shock penalty to ST rolls for me.

@discbot roll 3d6 for Quick Contest of ST(10)

@awfulhorrid the 3d6 dice reads: 14 for Quick Contest of ST(10) (5,6,3)

Well now that’s not what I wanted to roll.

No need for me to roll on the break free attempt.

One more knee strike to the plums, maintaining the grapple: skill-14, no modifiers.

@discbot roll 3d6 vs 14 to hit

I’m going to try a futile Dodge(9) … let’s see that’s -2 for the grapple … I don’t think I’m missing any other penalties, nor is it likely to matter that much!

Hmm. Unless I can All Out Defend for +2 to Dodge? (I know I can’t parry with a staff without steep penalties.)

@discbot roll 3d6 for Dodge 7

Regardless of results, I think I will yield at this point. I know when I’m beaten (and questioning my ability to produce offspring?)
