Fact of the day: Roy Batty’s dying monologue was longer and decidedly clunkier in the original script. Rutger Hauer improvised a good bit of the final version more or less on the spot, including the immortal phrase “lost in time, like tears in rain” itself.

Saw a bit of the original in the Dangerous Days behind the scenes, and yes… it is very VERY much clunkier.
That’s kind of the point of the name of the Android phone series. While the movie calls the artificial humans “replicants”, the book calls them “androids”.
