Yes please, Cheers!
Lovely!
Oh, Man!
From Reddit. Worlds worst cookbook recipes.
That was really entertaining! Iâve never heard of Velveeta fudge before but I love how thatâs also known as âtrailer trufflesâ according to the Reddit posters.
And I love how the watermelon soup recipe includes that you should: âprepare for a very sweet soup, and lots of leftovers.â
hey, now! watermelon gazpacho is straight up bomb!
no joke.
Oh, I concur whole heartedly. But also insist that gazpacho of any type not be simmered for 2 hours
too freakin hot and humid (88F and 80+% humidity = heat inex over 100F) to do anything outside, so piddled around in the kitchen.
made my signature Guinness bread again. i do love how simple it is, but so rich and smells heavenly. fresh out of the oven with butter and a bit of marmite!
only ingredients are:
one bottle Guinness Extra Stout
one Tbs active dry yeast
one Tbs sugar
one Tbs sesame oil (delightful smell and flavor)
AP flour add enough to make into a consistent bread dough - about 2-3 C (i just add until it feels right)
proof to rise double, then again in pans.
bake 35 min @ 360F.
i also do a lighter âwhite breadâ version in which one 12oz Yuengling lager is swapped for the Guinness. also a favorite!
That sounds great!
It also strikes me as funny that someone from the south thinks, âitâs too hot and humid to be outsideâŠI know! Iâll bake!â
Hardly anyone up here has AC, so that would be the last thing on our minds!
right! ac runs year-round day and night. we have a large carbon footprint that i am not proud of.
i am, however, very pleased with this bread!
I now have an excuse to stop and buy Guinness.
Itâs for baking I swear!

Is that a typo, or do you run the oven at 360Âș instead of 350Âș

Not sure if you knew that Yuengling is a vocal Trump supporter?
yup, as writ, 360F. why? cuz thatâs what great gram said back when she taught me. she also used bacon grease instead of oil. man, that was some bread!
bummer about yuengling. it is the go-to around here if you donât like over-hopped âisland ipaâ. iâll choose an Islamorada Ale any day, but not all pubs serve it⊠bonus is itâs local.
but back to the bread, one could use any beer, ale, lager⊠itâs your taste, man! i chose yuengling cuz of a neutral flavor. TIL their politics ainât neutral.
You cannot override Gramâs instructions, of course!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
