His face didn’t change. Digital photo resolution steadily improved, unveiling the blemishes that had been there the whole time.

No.
(We don’t all agree.)

Almost certainly was.

It is a personal pronoun. It starts many sentences. We start many sentences with personal pronouns, I do it especially when answering questions. You may do it on other occasions.

It may be the standalone use of it in a headline that is getting your attention, because at the very start of the headline there is no reference point.
“He…” (who?)

Also, this guy probably has a picture of himself in his attic.

It seems he used the same camera throughout the project.

Missed April 14, 2003. Otherwise, really neat!

The completion of the Human Genome Project had a lot of us distracted that day.

i wonder how he was able to get his face in the exact same spot every time. really fun to watch! his hair was like a living thing, and i especially liked when he grew facial hair. at first, i was wondering how long he he was going to stick with the same frame style for his glasses, but then he started changing it up.

Good choice for the soundtrack. I admire the consistency required to do a project like that. I would have abandoned it years ago.

Just having access to a consistent physical space for that long is an impressive feat!

Between 1998 to 2023 there have been literally zero physical spaces that exist in any consistent way in my life such that I could stand in front of the same “wall” daily for a duration of more than a decade.

His weight seemed consistent all the way through, unless he’s one of those people who doesn’t gain weight in their face. Since 1998 my face shape has gone from lean to Ted Kennedy and back to lean again.

Amazing dedication, and good fortune that he did not age poorly.

Agreed, though I do have to wonder if that wall behind him wasn’t a portable back drop.

Either way, dude was far more committed to this project than I ever been to anything.

Kudos to JK Keller!

I notice in many videos with AI speech descriptive captioning will use “The man took a photo of his face. The man then…” etc. It’s not gramatically incorrect, but it feels very specific. I think it’s a stylistic choice.

I feel like this should be licensed as an ad for the ongoing game project, One Hour, One Life.

I used to have an extensive music collection – some of which the torrents no longer exist… but I lost it after I was the victim of a crime and didn’t use the master password that unlocked huge chunks of my digital life for a few weeks while dealing with the fallout of being nearly killed.

Between then and my teen years, I moved so often and had bouts of homelessness such… I couldn’t amass a dvd or cd collection even if I’d spent the $ at secondhand shops and the like when I was doing better before my layoff…

So yeah… respect to this guy, but also half of me is like is this impressive or just the kind of art project the privlidged can pull off. (It looks like most of the shots are indoors, in an apartment or house of some kind with a white wall)

The effects of global warming on an extremely localized scale.

I did something similar on a far smaller scale, using scans of my annual ID card photos.

I showed it to a friend who just said “Why would you do something like that to yourself?”

I still don’t have a good answer to that question.

When I see pics of myself from 30 years ago, I pause a bit on that full head of hair I had, LOL.
Though you can tell that it was in the process of leaving.

No, he used different cameras. If you turn on the subtitles, you can see what was used along the way.
