How a sex researcher and a cosplaying 3D printing specialist created an open source, orgasm-measuring butt-plug

As long as it’s not actually inside the body, I’d assume decent, non-tinted PLA would be ok, as it’s food safe (and breaks down into ethanol, lactic and acetic acid). The printer itself might be more problematic - apparently the hot ends can have a variety of non-food-safe materials in them that could contaminate the final product.

I’d think the non-washability (because of all the fine crevasses in the print) of the product might be problematic, too.

I don’t get that. I can see not getting funded, but lawsuits? WTAF?

I can guarantee there were no finished units made with a hobbyist style FDM printer. There are many other technologies available that can make true solid parts.

Ha, seems like the story is pretty self-explanatory…

Can confirm. His work is extraordinary. I also much prefer glass to metal toys as they’re easier to clean. Metal may look smooth, but it’s actually somewhat porous at the crystalline level and even if metal toys are solid enough to put through a dishwasher’s heat cycle, eww.

Plastic varies and now I’m wondering so I’m going to put one of my 3D print projects under the microscope and see what it looks like.

Or at least not too bummed out.

At least they stretched their budget far enough.

Someone in my household performed a search. My Amazon store recommendations were slightly more saucy at work the next day. (Normally the beast recommends home goods, hardware, etc., but it now thought I’d like to browse lingerie.)

I heard their credit rating touched bottom.

Hopefully good quality nightware. Amazon is awash in unmentionables that are unmentionably low caliber. And I wouldn’t be caught dead looking at most of their structured clothing.

I think it’s great when people get the right work/play fit.

Let’s say FunCo sells a line of IoT sex toys: butt plugs, RC dildos, animated fleshlights, teledildonic gizmos. All transmit personal data and are susceptible to hacking. Overload those devices! Steal users’ DNA and biochemistry! Maim, enhance, or blackmail! Is FunCo a front for state-sponsored terrorism?

Millions of unsuspecting pervs penetrate or are penetrated by FunCo toys at any given moment. Then, a signal is sent out, and they all explode! Which social class will be decimated?

Are they on a train? Is the train accelerating or traveling at constant velocity?

Oh great. Big data. Analytics. Now they’ll ruin sex just like they ruined baseball.
