Having just watched the 2 hr Zappa documentary, this week, I came away with a much better idea of who he was and why - and a greater appreciation of all he did. Recommended.

The performance is captured on the Broadway the Hard Way album, which is definitely worth a listen.

It also includes this song, which I heard on the radio one day and was astounded that not only could someone write a song like that, but that someone else would play it on the radio. I’d been introduced to Zappa at college the year before, but that was the moment that I started devouring everything I could get my hands on.
