I was expecting a higher number. Why was this revised down from say this:https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/12/politics/trump-branded-properties-charge-taxpayers-a-million-invs/index.html or even the WaPo last march: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-company-has-received-at-least-970000-from-us-taxpayers-for-room-rentals/2020/05/14/26d27862-916d-11ea-9e23-6914ee410a5f_story.html ?

And that is at least rooms that were used. There’s no bottom to the grift…

Wait, wait, hold on. You’re saying that a serial grifter, a man with no demonstrable conscience and a proclivity for ripping people off…that guy used his position for profit? What?!?

Grifting off of the office in ways large and small was a big part of the reason for his 2016 run.

In no way trying to excuse it, but that’s small potatoes compared to the billions redirected to friends, family, and business interests (wall, Blackwater, etc).

Hmmm, if only someone could mobilize to make a lot of room reservations and then not ever show up or pay…I wonder if that’s a thing.

But to the main point, like others, I’m surprised the number isn’t higher. I remember in the months after he took office there were already reports of the stupid golf cart rental and other fees required of the captive audience of the secret service.
