Huckabee: Trump can't be racist because he was on TV

Well, if you’re okay hurting something helpless that can’t talk, you’d probably be okay hurting someone who can talk in order to make them afraid of speaking up at all.

it might be some sort of weird bystander effect.

basically, everyone else is acting like this is basically normal. nobody else is asking: why doesn’t the president step down after all the harmful things he’s already done. so nobody else asks either.

a week or two from now, after all the current hubbub dies down. a new clamoring will appear, and once again it’ll the question will be framed: is he or isn’t he a racist.

the real question for reporters, i think, is: how is his racism playing out in policy?

for instance: look at what he’s doing to palestinian aid. what’s that motivated from. how does his racism influence the outcome.

that’s the only reasonable way to deal with this administration i think.

Shouldn’t the title say “Huckabee Sanders”, or just “Sanders”, for the sake of accuracy? I initially assumed this was something her father, Mike Huckabee, had spouted.

You’re correct: it should be “Huckabee Sanders” (no evil feminist hyphen, I believe ). At the same time it does bring up the question of why one of the queens of “traditional Christian values” decided to keep her father’s family name prominent after also taking her husband’s name. Hmm, I wonder why…
