I found a locked safe hidden at the back of a closet in my new house

how does an anarchist worker collective wind up with a safe that looks like the space odyssey monolith?

Ultimately, there was nothing of value in the safe. Just some empty wooden drawers, some paper clips and an old paystub.

Red Emma’s is a cool bookstore and coffee house, if you’re ever in Baltimore.

Clearly it’s not a safe but a heavy duty vampire coffin

wrong side of the country for me, otherwise i’d be there in a flash. any bookstore named after emma goldman is golden in my book.

I love watching these big builds he does. I notice some in the comments saying if he’d just raised the hinges from that flat surface he would have had clearance for the door instead of going through the hassle of taking a whole load of material off and re-drilling the holes. :person_shrugging:

He definitely has builds where his planning and problem-solving could be better, though i think his mistakes are still valuable lessons for other makers. I have thought for a long time that i would like to see him talk about some of his projects with a subject matter expert to see what kind of advice they would give and how to tackle particular problems. Like if he’s making a prop gun with machined parts talk to a gun smith and see what thoughts they have on it.

I feel like his mistakes are the most valuable thing about watching his videos and he’s someone who embraces them when they happen and not afraid to talk it through with us. But i do despair at watching his impatience sometimes.

In a way it is what makes his enthusiasm more earnest, you can see how excited he is about his projects and he just wants to get to the fun. But i agree that he could stand to work on his patience more :stuck_out_tongue: He also doesn’t have the best safety practices, the times i see him not use a respirator or use eye protection when he really should drive me up a wall sometimes.

Oh hell yeah. Wasn’t he supposed to be building a dedicated painting station? I’m sure that was a thing. I’m with you on his lack of eye protection when cutting, grinding, drilling chunks of metal. :grimacing:
