Exactly! I’ve never liked the way that the knot made sliding the bin in and out of the can. Also, using the properly sized bags is truly following the 6-P’s “Proper Preparation Prevents Piss-Poor Performance”. ^____^

You don’t get how to do it or why to do it?
How to do it takes a little practice to get the right size.
Why to do it? At home I never do it but in a commercial setting it’s done because if someone tosses something in and the bag falls in I guarantee no one will fix it until the cleaning staff comes in and by that time it’s a mess that may require extra work to clean the can once it gets dumped.
Also, it makes it easier to just dump the can and recycle the bag if there’s nothing wet or smelly in it.
