There is another option, even with them saying that. It is possible that they are lying about the books containing things that fall afoul of the law to provide politically useful evidence that the law was needed. Even assuming that they are objecting to the actual content may be assuming too much good faith on their part.

One of the principles of Social–emotional learning is “he ability to have awareness of the emotions and social situations of other people” so no wonder “conservatives” are opposed to it.
There are a lot of paranoid obsessives seeing liberal bogeymen everywhere. For example they’re trying to claim that the character Luisa in Encanto is trans just because she is muscular and strong. It’s kind of funny how obsessed they are with these things while not understanding the first thing about them - if you wanted to surreptitiously introduce a trans woman into a children’s film you wouldn’t do it by making them big and muscular.

My guess would be set theory.
Apparently xians have a BIG problem with set theory because taken to it’s ‘logical extreme’ it disproves the ‘existence’ of god, or something along those lines.

What is wrong with that policy? If there were lessons that reinforced white supremacy, getting rid of those would be beneficial. Getting rid of a policy that supports diversity seems like a bad idea.

Even Indiana didn’t finalize that proposition to put it into law. Got further than it should have in the state legislature, but cooler heads prevailed in the end.
