Thank the stars you’re here to set us all right again! Heaven forfend we voiced our own opinions.
If you were walking down the street and saw someone whose life was in peril, and could help them without even the least personal inconvenience, but chose not to – would you be surprised that people didn’t think positively of you?
Because billionaires like Musk could save a hell of a lot of lives without ever personally wanting for anything, simply by ordering an aide to make it happen, and they still don’t. And whatever nonsense you think the point is, that’s what it should be.
Who cares if children starve… Elon is RIIIIICCCCHHHHH… thanks to apartheid! All on the up and up! /s
BTW, he’s not going to see this post and be your friend dude.
Seriously, dude. If a dig out a couple of quarters to hand to a homeless man, that’s not particularly generous. The fact that he has amassed what might be the largest forture in history (though that’s up for debate) shows that whatever he’s giving away is not nearly enough to dent that insane level of wealth at the same time that inequality has exploded to insane levels. He’s actively helping to emiserate large portions of the planet with his hoarding.
If you want to see what REAL generosity among the elite class is, check out Chuck Feeney…
Musk, is that you?
If you own $50000, then two quarters would be 0.001% of your wealth, so apparently just that action would be as generous as Musk has been according to Forbes this February. (They weren’t counting a more recent donation until they knew where it went, which is good since apparently it was mostly to himself.)
So yeah, I think probably everyone here is a better philanthropist than Elon Musk.
The bird that shits on my garden from a branch above is better.
The Science on that doesn’t lie.
True. Low bar, though.
