In the chaos of the Muslim ban, the rule of man trumps the rule of law

… and so, it begins …

His other tweets today are about how the NYTimes is not treating him nicely. He is so self-centered. He is incapable of responding to the people.

And for those with any human feelings. May we assume you are in neither category?

Today he was talking about all the Christians executed in the parts of the word he has just issued an executive exclusion order on. So there’s that.

"Yes but" is a degradation, isn’t it? It is always a no, hiding behind the lie of being merely a slight clarification. This is no time for semantics.

If you imagine you’re helping, try other ways. If you imagine you’re disrupting, not very much is the amount.

That will only happen if the GOP feels like 45 is dragging them down. Right now 45 is taking the flak. But out of the entire congress, only 6 republicans have spoken against the muslim ban (and even then its been mild protestations).

In order to pressure the GOP to take action, they need to be held responsible for 45’s actions. Refer to it as the “republican muslim ban.” He’s their party’s leader and they aren’t standing up for america. They need to own that.

Arguably, somebody who realizes the consequences of his actions and just doesn’t care. But it’s kind of like choosing between Hitler and Stalin…

For people that are unaware:

Bannon wrote the inaugural address.
Bannon wrote the executive orders.

Clinton controlled the media.
Now the media control the presidency.

ETOA I see people are following the law here, Poe’s Law.

EOTA2:

And now 45 has appointed Bannon to the National Security Council (and kicked out the DNI and the Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff)

Should we just start referring to him as President Bannon?

Two oversimplifications do not recover a right.

And, as I just learned, Paul Ryan wasn’t among those six. Way to lead, you scrotum.

Sideline silence on abuse of power like this is a lack of courage at best, tacit condoning of that abuse at worst. Given that these are the Republicans, not the Dems, I’m going with the latter assumption.

I agree: make the Republicans own this one, as they already effectively are through their collective silence. In addition to calling this a Republican ban on Muslims, here are two more things we can do:

  • if you have a Republican representative still silent, reach out to them. Ask them why they’re balking at defending the constitution they hold so dear. Ask them why they’re allowing a national brain drain at a time when the U.S. needs a 21st century workforce more than ever.

  • if one of your Republican representatives has spoken up–however quietly–tell them that you support their protest and resistance. Ask them what you can do to crank up those dissenting decibels and ohms. Keep pressure on them to not just stand their ground but to advance it. And remind them that if they fail at the basic oath of their office, you will make every political effort to replace them with someone who will.

Followed by the immediate impeachment of Pence, and then Ryan.

But let’s face it - right now we’ve got both Pence and Bannon running the show. If we get rid of Trump, it’ll just be Pence. Strange as it seems, having the Mammonite Pontiff as president would be an improvement.

It’s probably true, though - Trump is undeniably bad, but he doesn’t care about may of the issues Pence does (abortion, gay rights), nor does he know how to do anything himself. The problem is that what this means is that Pence (and Bannon) get to advance their agendas while Trump is merely the gibbering figurehead.

So impeach that POS too!

The ACLU fixed that for you.

That stay order only applies to people in transit. People who have not yet boarded a plane are still stranded where they are.

More follow-up on the Bannon angle:

The Whitehouse’s statement on Holocaust Memorial day literally had zero mention of jews.

Straight out of the breitbart alt-nazi handbook.

They are working on it, but the rule of law is still in question. From Cory’s article:
