In an abstract way, these arguments like on this thread, which seem to pop up anytime someone says or does something to hurt the Repub’s fee-fees, it reminds me of the way the plastics industry boondoggled us.
One powerful entity spews a bunch of harmful trash into the world, at great personal profit, and then convinces us all that it’s our burden to use it responsibly and dispose of it correctly. And some people continue tossing it out of their car windows while the rest of us are made to feel badly if we don’t spend enough weekends cleaning up the roadsides.
