Internal files reveal how US law enforcement classes anti-fascists as fascists, and actual fascists as "anti-anti-fascists"

some people can march around with guns whenever they want, and that’s freedom

when other people kneel silently at the wrong time, that’s treason

That’s not what you said, but even limited the scope of what you said down to counter-demonstrations you still are fundamentally asking “if counter-protests are righteous, the protesters wouldn’t need to conceal their identity” it still makes sense to say “if leaking information from your workplace is righteous, the leakers wouldn’t need to conceal their identity” as a response. Your confusion is what doesn’t make much sense.

for the masks part, most people who are brave enough to come out to demonstrate against white supremacists are well aware of how quickly police like to deploy tear gas. bandanas and masks can be self-defense. tear gas is no joke.

for the violence part, honest curiosity here. are you thinking of a specific instance when antifa initiated violence? and if so: when?

Except when the other side is unrighteous and does harassment against people they can identify.

what terrible communicators these guys are?

which ‘guys’? Antifa is just an abbreviation of ‘anti-fascist’ and it’s mostly the far right who have in very recent years tried to make out ‘Antifa’ to be a very specific organisation (as opposed to just being pretty much anyone apart from fascists) and lumped in anyone they don’t like as being part of it

Why not call yourselves “The Churchill Society”, or “Churchillians”.

because the far right love Churchill or at least will claim to most of the time, and the far left / anarchism is not really down with anything Churchill stood for apart from fighting against nazis? and it would be much more confusing and non-descriptive than ‘antifascist’ ?

Some people will only be against fascism if the branding is on point.

“I would have been against Neo-Nazis, but your logo just didn’t grab me, and I was so close to being convinced, too. Like, I was at least 49% against Nazis…”
