I have a bunch of mint flowering on my porch, and on Saturday while reading a hummingbird flew and hovered around the mind, then another, then another. It was almost magical, seeing these thumb-sized hovering creatures, wings blurred to transparency, just floating and jittering about, then fly off when a crow cried warning. I think I’m going to grow more mint next year, maybe set up a patch in the back pasture, next to the milkweed and wildflower patches.
