Even without the modern connotations, even if it is displayed purely for “heritage”, it’s a heritage of top-grade evil.
The Confederates weren’t just looking to continue slaughtering and exploiting black USAdians; they had declared plans to create an empire of slavery stretching to the Strait of Magellan.
Defeating those fuckers was the most unambiguously worthwhile thing the US Army has ever done. Their only mistake was in not ending the war by dispossessing and executing every slaveholder.

There’s a Coptic church a few miles from my parents’ house. A lot of the exterior signs are in Arabic. (To give you some context, this is in strongly Trumpian suburban Texas.)

Yeah, that’s my point. For a certain demographic, [Muslim]=[arab|asian|black]. We know that construct is flat out wrong - there are loads of non-arab, non-asian, non-black Muslims. But even IF it were true, the relationship isn’t commutative. In other words [arab|asian|black]!=[Muslim]. Which is addressed at the point @nungesser made:

Apparently we can now add opioid overdose to your chart, underneath (i.e. higher risk than) being shot. (Speaking of, the governor here in Maryland wants to limit opioid prescriptions to 7 days… seems to me this could just push some people to black market fentanyl, etc. where they’re unsupervised by a physician.)
My wife’s Ethiopian, and the Ethiopian church was officially (if not practically) under the auspices of the Coptic patriarch until the 20th century. The churches are still in communion with each other, and in Oriental Orthodoxy the Coptic patriarch is (IIRC) “first among equals.” So imagine our surprise when we were running an errand near my parents’ house and stumbled across a rather elaborate Coptic church in an area that is predominantly Protestant (and I’d say it’s an accurate guess that a plurality of those are Southern Baptists). The Coptic church sits along John McCain Blvd. (apparently named after, yes, that John McCain).
Just as curious was the house (not far away) that had a Faravahar mounted on either side of the gated driveway.
ETA: This place was built about 2 or 3 miles down the road from my house. It’s huge and it’s beautiful. WND or some such had quite a different take on it, and described it as a Turkish invasion of “small-town Maryland,” if somehow a county with 900,000 people bordering Washington D.C. is “small-town.”

I was looking at the ads and I was like: “Why is the guy putting that into the pic?” And then it hit me that it was an advertisement, but only after reading the reply about you visiting more interesting websites.
It really has been that long since I’ve seen an ad, I guess.

I mean, he wrote that he (presuming a he) is anti-sodomy.
Has he ever tried it? Maybe he had a really unpleasant experience once, and is soured on the idea now. Maybe we need to introduce a skilled and loving practitioner of the backdoor arts to show this guy what he’s been missing.
