not to mention the visitor and phone logs of whitehouse being mysterious empty
( i mean, we know the prior office holder avoided work and responsibility at all cost, but he sure did love to talk. endless, rambling talk )
I wonder if there is any security camera / CCTV footage showing the comings and goings through access points to the White House during Former Guyâs term of office. And, of course, if that footage (or recording, as I imagine itâs all digital now and âfeetâ of videotape is a misnomer) is still extant, and somehow accessible.
This getting rid of all records of the misdeeds of Cult45 and their time in the White House only makes me wonder if McConnell, Graham, Cruz, and all the other GOP-enablers have likewise taken these methods to heart and also have purged Any Evidence of [Their] Wrongdoing.
I can easily foresee the day when, should we be lucky enough to get hearings, trials, accountability, subpoenas, etc., there will be a sudden mock surprise as investigators âsimplyâ cannot find all the necessary grist for the legal proceedings mill.
Long read, but well worth it. Thanks.
Seemed to end rather abruptly though. I guess the stories are still being told.
Great read, thanks for posting this. Itâs a well-written attempt to humanize these people. I feel some empathy for their plight, but they donât seem repentant at all.
When itâs all over, Iâll try to make some time for this.
Very little sympathy here as well.
I donât.
They made their choices; and due to White privilege and White supremacy, whatever consequences they do suffer still wonât be as harsh as they would for anyone whoâs BIPOC or LGBTQ+.
This passage, WTF?
Gina Bisignano was among them. Presumably the only protester in a Louis Vuitton sweater and Chanel boots, Gina had been present for some of the dayâs darkest moments: the scrum at the West Terrace, where a police officer was pulled into the crowd, where Rosanne died, and where another police officer moaned in pain as a crush of angry men tried to force their way in. Among the most iconic pictures of the insurrection was an image of Gina weeping, lines of mascara running down her chin like roots seeking water. There was footage of Gina pointing at the sky and praising God and footage of Gina framed by the arch of a window, like Mary in a grotto, shouting encouragement through a bullhorn to violent men below: Everybody, we need gas masks. We need weapons ⌠Youâre not going to take away our Trumpy-bear!
âLike Mary in a grottoââŚ
Yeah⌠Iâm on the ânot very sympathetic right nowâ to these traitors side, I think.
Sympathy and empathy are two different things, though. This article made me more aware of why they are like they are.
Yeah, but rarely are these kinds of stories told about people who are not white (and well-off) and are caught up in the justice system. We get these kinds of things over and over again about white supremacists shitheads who are trying to destroy the country and remake it as a white power paradise. I guess itâs good to know why these people did what they did, but rarely do we see this kind of humanizing story for people who did far less damage to others or to our society.
No disagreement with any of that.
Is it telling that all of them are/were taking brain meds, or is that not statistically surprising?
Yep. The attempt to humanize was completely transparent and I have zero sympathy. They chose to riot and tried to prevent a peaceful transfer of power, they also co-opted BLM protests:
Say their names, she yelled. Ashli Babbitt! Rosanne Boyland! Ashli Babbitt! Rosanne Boyland!
They hate the left, they hate BLM movement. Suddenly they want us to feel sorry for them? If this wasnât a predominantly white people riot, there would have been bodies all over the capitol.
Assholes. Every one of them.
