Updated. Thank you.

Can’t listen to it. Too painful. Someone needs to tell them about the RIAA curve. :expressionless:

Speaking of 60s tributes to avengers of the night, I think someone here posted this or I found it in one of my rabbit holes:

:notes: …and the Joker got away, hey!

I’m sorry.

#7

Did anyone else think of They Might Be Giants at the opening stanza?

What weird harmonies! Maybe it’s just the effect of a bass and a falsetto with nothing in between, I dunno.

Yes, it’s surprisingly hard to listen to.

Superman or Green Lantern ain’t got nothin’ on them!

Well, that’s as weird as my day is getting.

This was a favorite of mine as a kid, from an aunt’s Jan & Dean’s greatest hits album. It worthwhile sticking around until the origin story at the end. “As if an answer, a huge bat flies through the open window.”

What weird harmonies

Sounds just exactly like each singer wandering off into his own key. Which is odd, because earlier in their career J&D could stay on pitch just fine, and there was no Autotune to come to the rescue then.
