Maybe not as easy as you might think, to a Japanese.
The really fancy places have two men who bow to the patrons. If the first is injured or incapacitated, or bows ineptly, the second fills in. This is so that at no time will a patron enter an elevator without there being an abject display of subservience, something so necessary in Japanese society.
