Jerry Falwell Jr. resigns as head of Liberty University

Yep; though very talented, he was a shady-ass queen.

Well, valar morghulis, muthafuckas.

What purpose could he possibly serve there?

Oh. I was wondering how someone could be born through compulsory institutionalization. I thought it was perhaps a European thing. Like ossuaries or Kinder eggs.

Oh god, they played part of his interview with NPR about him leaving LIberty U, and he actually quoted Dr. King’s “Free at least…”

Jr may no longer be President, but there’s a near 100% chance that he’ll forever more remain affliated w/daddy’s university as a board member or like position that guarantees him a salary & benefits most folks who must test the free jobs market rarely attain.

Its the “joke’s on us” portion of the Falwell/LibertyU crime story.

I thought CBN was Pat Robertson and he eventually sold to Disney.

Freeform being the successor to CBN. As a term of the sale the 700 Club still gets broadcast but at alcoholic/unemployed viewer hours.

Or do I have the wrong channel?

Anyone else hear the audio of an interview with him on NPR today? He sounded a bit drunk to me. There were a few interesting quotes from him too, including:

Does anyone, including Falwell himself, really believe that being forced out due to scandal is leaving “at the top?”

A cuckold is a man whose wife cheats behind his back, leading to his humiliation because he is “not manly enough” to control his woman. A man who approves of his wife fucking other men and enjoys watching is a wittol, a willing wimp. In the cuck subculture, he is a fetishist playing at being a victim, IMHO a form of mental masochism. Kinky…

Tolkien trivia time!

Both the prophecy about Witch-King’s death, and the Ents’ attack on Isengard, are inspired by the prohecies in Macbeth, and young Tolkien’s disappointment in what he saw as “cheating”.

There were some in between steps. First, it was spun off into an independent, for profit network called The Family Channel. That’s the one that was contractually obligated to broadcast 700 Club. Then News Corp bought it and it became the Fox Family Channel. Then ABC/Disney bought it (before they bought Fox, I’m pretty sure), and it became ABC Family. Then they rebranded it Freeform. It looks like they still air the 700 Club, so maybe that provision has survived all the ownership changes.
