According to this BBC piece; our gentleman blames “pressure from self-righteous people”.
This seems like a clear sign that either Mr. Falwell has a level of self awareness lower than most inanimate objects; or that 2020 is having yet another “meaning has dissolved into phoneme soup to be roiled by the petulance of the powerful” moment. Possibly both.

Umm, Michael Cohen’s third client, right? And I just went to YouTube looking for the endorsement vid which I had seen at the time, and even the heavily edited version shows the distinct lack of enthusiam or, umm, belief shown by Fallwell Jr. The original had him interrupt his endorsement to take a call. How much was Falwell sr paid by Rupert Murdoch for his interest in CBN? How much did Jr get from that deal and from his father? The Murdoch cabal may be the most significant conspiracy of the 21st century and we just keep looking the other way.
