It seems that Bakker is confusing massive, joyous, nationwide block parties with riots.
Hypothetical:
-
Trump is impeached (I don’t think he will be, but as I said: hypothetical)
-
Trump refuses to surrender the office,
What then? Who do you see as arresting him?
Keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of US police are Trumpists.
You could apply the same hypothetical starting from the premise, ‘1. Trump is defeated in a general election, or reaches his term limit.’
And the answer, I fear, is ‘nobody’.
Facts still work?
Ha! Touche!
I would argue that prosperity theology is the worship of self, but that’s probably semantics.
I think Bakker is too late with this.
If Trump had been impeached within the first couple of months, then yes, the Trumpers I know would have been in open revolt, and would have used violence to reinstate the President.
But now… the facade is too cracked at this point. Even my most fanatical pro-Trump relatives have stopped their 24-hour-a-day Facebook Trumpathons. They’ve finally realized coal isn’t coming back, basically.
Are you saying that ‘god’ is obliged to have anything to do with them as go on their merry way to ‘hell’?
