Exactly. They “reported” it in the least-impactful, most ineffectual way possible so they could at least say they’d done their due diligence. And yes, their brand of Christianity definitely revolves around the image of their righeousness rather than how much good they’ve actually done, sadly.

Like I said earlier, abusers are attracted to power structures like this like flies to shit. There’s more of the fuckers than just the Young Scion and Nonce Cop there for sure. Organised, secretive and with all the power.
