This seems like information got muddled. SD wouldn’t have to pay sanctions caused by an attorney’s misconduct, and even then she would pay the court, not DT’s attorneys.

I think it’s weird that defamation laws are written in a way where being a publicly visible ignorant asshole is an amazing advantage, as is spending as much money as possible on a lawyer.
