Judge Sanctions Alan Dershowitz for "recklessly" filing "false, misleading, and unsupported" claims in Kari Lake's election lawsuit

Eh…I think he has a long way to go to catch up, and that’s not because I have any respect for him. Maybe if he tried leaking something.

Came here to say, why hasn’t this A-hole already had his legal license suspended for all the Big Lie-related legal filings? Same for all the other Big Lie attorneys (Sidney Powell, John Eastman, et al).

In the UK there is a penalty of being ruled a ‘vexatious litigant’, someone who often files unwarranted lawsuits. They get banned from going to court again. It doesn’t often happen.

That’s a thing in the US too but laws vary by state and it’s a high bar to clear. I think in California you generally have to file at least half a dozen frivolous lawsuits within a relatively short period of time before a judge will deem you a “vexatious litigant” for some set period of time. Even then you aren’t completely barred from filing any more lawsuits but you can’t take anyone else to court unless a judge rules your case has merit first.

My impression was that he was… skilled. Like, even if he was an ass, he knew what he was doing and could make the law dance for him. Now, he’s getting busted for straight-up lying in court documents and making statements that any 2L would laugh at.
And from what I gather, it did all start going downhill after the Epstein horrors hit the news. Like I said, I wonder what documentation of his activities is floating around, because I can’t imagine he needed the work, money, or networking to do that work without coercion.

He got addicted to the attention he got from defending horrible clients when he respresented von Bulow, but it really got bad when he got on the OJ “dream team”. After that it was one horror show client after another, and then here we are.

Here’s the thing:
Asserting election fraud without even minimal evidence is itself evidence of an attempt to defraud the election.
