Who would’ve thought that the White House’s political pyramid scheme could be so cold blooded.
Are…are you implying CNN is in any way “left”?
I think you missed this, thinking I’m insinuating he did something good, right above. I regret you think that.
I never said he did something useful .
I also never said he did anything “good” either. just that he did “something”.
I’d certainly never argue bombing people in Vietnam was a good thing.
The only thing I can think of he ever did I could construe as good was drawing attention to how captured soldiers were treated horribly. If he ever did do something positive in life, I don’t know of it. Can we move along now? The points are made. We ALL hate John McCain, ok? Jesus.
John McCain was what I wish of the Republican Party.
I disagreed with him probably 90% of the time, but i feel like he was someone I could sit down and have a rational, respectful argument with. A person with whom I could share the general sentiment of, “we both want what’s best for the country, and have very different ideas on how to do that, so let’s try to find the common ground and where we can compromise.”
My senator, Susan Collins, was once one of those people, who somewhere in this clusterfuck went over to the dark side. Now I’m committed to replacing her with a Democrat, where at one point I may have considered it more valuable to have a somewhat friendly connection across the aisle.
The Republicans have pushed partisanship past the point of no return. There was a time when we could disagree and still work together. That’s done now.
This is what happened with the Brownshirts, the Taliban, and the Facisti.
I’m reasonably certain that this election will be the event that future generations consider the start of our second civil war.
McCain always managed to say something that sounded good and right, but then voted along party lines, never picking the “right thing to do” - Except that once, he voted against the repubs health care stuff and it lost in the senate. But he only did it to piss off dRumph. I still classify him as a blow hard.
Looks like someone is dead because of these idiots now.

Caravans of murderers? Murder Caravans?
It looks like the one person dead is a thin blue line type.
Caravans of degenerates at the least. I don’t want to see anyone die, but these obnoxious people certainly instigated this
Yep, they spent the night attacking pedestrians from the back of trucks - spraying them with mace/pepper spray, paint balls, and driving through red lights into crowds. The only surprising thing is only one person is dead and that it’s a Trumper.
There’s video of the aftermath. Apparently the cops assumed he was a BLM protester, the way they behaved:

Someone described it a “safari” which seems right. Now Trump and other Republicans are openly calling for more of this. I think Trump finally got his Kristallnacht.
o reiterate: the “heroic mass shooter” narrative came after her statement; at that point the conservative talking point was that the “violence” (including, specifically, the shooting) was the fault of “the left” (even though they knew the shooter was targeting protesters).
The implied narrative is that the left was at fault simply for being the left and opposing the Glorious Leader. That idea is nothing more nor less than the argument of the schoolyard bully that the victim was “asking for it.”
Alas, some schoolyard bullies essentially wind up controlling the school - because all the students fear the bully so much that they’'ll toady to him, and the bulliy’s parents are psychopaths that the administrators fear. Some of these grow up to be CEO’s and prominent politicians.
I’m reasonably certain that this election will be the event that future generations consider the start of our second civil war.
I surely hope not, because if it is, we are so screwed. We’ve dismantled the rail system. The aviation system can’t support our flow of bulk goods. A majority of truckers are Trumpistas. (The Teamsters’ Union itself is schizophrenic; trying to support the Democrats against Republican union-busting while still trying to support fascism. In any case, most truckers are non-union.). At the start of the second civil war, the food stops flowing into the cities. How long before they starve out the besieged?
They got rid of a medic?
Trying to save a gunshot victim?
How is this ethical, legal? What is wrong with these people, these cops? How can they support this?

Yeah, various conservatives are more or less explicit about that.
The larger narrative is interesting though. As someone put it, the conservative position is: “(State-enacted) violence against people doesn’t justify “violence” to property, but “violence” to property justifies violence against people.” But something tells me this only works so long as the violence against people isn’t directed at conservatives.
How is this ethical, legal?
Former soldiers talking about how this wouldn’t even be allowed during a war…

And the ‘violence’ to property justifies violence against people who had nothing to do with it, other than being in the same area at nearly the same time. If, by some chance, you can’t find an opportunist vandalizing or looting in the vicinity of a protest, just send in a conservative provocateur to break some windows, and presto, you’re justified in committing violence against uninvolved protesters, who were asking for it anyway.
