that seems like a pretty horrible way to go out
Thoughts and prayers to his family, and does Lamarckism or Darwinism better describe this?
I’m going with alcohol
This is like an unfunny episode of Viva la Bam.
Also - it astounds me a state senator just runs unopposed.
Well there was an opponent, but he dropped out like 2 days before this accident. I have no idea why that person dropped out, but I’d guess there was approximately zero chance the incumbent was going to lose. Maybe he just thought, “What’s the point? What am I doing in this race?” So few people vote in these local races, and then when they do, they just don’t pay attention to the candidates, so the incumbent advantage is pretty hard to overcome.
Wait-the senate is only in session for 30 days a year?!
Only in odd years. In even years, they meet for 60 days. Kentucky’s legislative session length seems to be shorter than most, but it’s not that unusual. For most states, these are not intended to be full time jobs.
Sure, but I’m just glad he didn’t manage to take anyone else out with him.
