A sad story for the bird involved but relevant to pining first fjords:
Well, we are living in Bizarro World.
Well at least we’re staying in the same ballpark. The point is that having the first female evil murderous tyrant may not be something we want nations to aspire to.
South Korea is saying they know where he’s at , and that he’s perfectly fine, and they have people on the ground confirming things.
This was all likely a purity test to see who was plotting and who was surprised. I imagine the plotters will be dealt with.
Oh come on, the was on the team that invented softice, that’s got to count for something.
Hasn’t that been debunked?
and there is a brother however it has been noted that he is a gay and feminine thus he was skipped over for any consideration when the dad died
If that was the case, the government would not spend nearly as much on propaganda.
The older I get, the more I think there’s a lot more subtlety in how these things work. We tend to ignore the “small fry” and pretend the only ones who matter are the leaders, but I have believe there are a lot of quiet, contributory factors that make a big difference.
For example, in NK, I doubt the people will ever rise up and certainly they will clap + cheer as ordered. But if Dear Leader starts losing the genuine support of the populace, I think his reign is likely to be a lot shorter.
We love a good narrative, and if a leader falls, we’ll put it down to the one mistake. But often enough, success or failure depends on thousands of factors, none of which is notable enough to make it into the history books.
Of course, none of this is provable. But it certainly fits with what I see in any organization made of humans.
No sweat. Trump has been a mental vegetable for decades and that doesn’t stop him – his puppet masters keep pulling the strings and nobody is the wiser.
Reminds me of the U.S. We don’t always and clap + cheer as ordered, but we do so in many ways for the wealth-hoarding ruling class. And then we turn around and dispense the apparently requisite boos and jeering for those who hoard say, newspapers or empty soda cans. A harmless form of hoarding gets boos, while a vastly harmful form gets cheers. We’re not really all that much less crazed and cult like than North Koreans are.
And what does it say about our society when even a murderous tyrannical regime is able to get on board with the idea of a female head of state before the United States?
The answer to that question might depend on how leaders are selected. Again, having a female tyrant by primogeniture is not necessarily something that should make western democracies envious.
Yes, that’s the point I’m making. People who get excited about having women in power never like to talk about Maggie.
No one is saying we should be envious of North Korea.
No one is saying all female leaders are inherently good.
We’re saying that the level of sexism in our society is pretty fucking embarrassing if even the DPRK is able to overcome sexist bias far enough to appoint a female head of state before we do.
Not necessarily gay, but too soft to be a ruthless.dictator.
In 2015 he visited London with a woman (and an entourage) to go to two Eric Clapton concerts.
Brings to mind that member of the family who apparently got whacked by a pair of woman in an airport in, Malaysia I think?
That would be his elder half-brother, who criticised the regime in public and might have been talking to the CIA.
“Stole” the milk from kids at school, helped invent ice cream with air in.
Something something Cow something.
