Large fish photographed in Loch Ness

Also worth noting: the blog @beschizza linked to makes clear that (1) the guy who took the photos lists himself as a CGI artist on Linkedin, (2) the guy who took the photos then tried to claim he wasn’t any good at CGI art to throw suspicion off his plainly photoshopped image, and (3) the file history of the photo shows that it has been opened in Photoshop.

Not so much a nothingburger as a nothingfilet-o-fish, but still definitely not worth taking at all seriously.

Sturgeon are kinda spikey and not mottled that way, though the colors can be similar.

I’m quite familiar with seals having grown up in a place with quite a lot of them and volunteered with marine ecology places that do marine mammal rescue.

That looks exactly like a seal diving/rolling near the surface. And iirc seals are known to enter the loch.

He estimated that it was 8 feet away and about 30 feet long.

Obvious fake…everyone knows they use the metric system in Scotland.

If this isn’t fake, it looks like a harbor seal.

Seriously. Same species we see most often here. I’ve fed one of these guys.

It’s 100% a seal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen this exact sight in my life.

My guess would be a seal. I first though a porpoise because of the coloration, but I don’t see the dorsal fin.

It’s weird how badly 'shopped it is, then. The way the water just sort of unevenly blends in with the body of the “fish” doesn’t look at all right.

sure, keep moving those goal posts. next you’ll say the only valid proof of yeti is going to be when one is teaching in-person astrophysics classes at a public four year university when we all know they prefer ivy league.

the nerve of your unreasonable demands knows no bounds.

I’ll have you know that I had many respectable yeti professors in college!
