If he pardons himself, that’s yet another reason to pack SCOTUS. Not just to nail 45 to the wall, but to ensure that the whole concept of self-pardon becomes settled law.

Then I chose the words incorrectly to express the thought. There is no way we can prevent him from trying. We can yell and scream before and after the fact, but there is nothing preventing Trump from attempting to pardon himself, and he likely IS going to try.
This is a different case than saying, let’s let a criminal murder someone so we can test the courts. Absolutely not, we should not do this.
But in Trump’s (or, rather, the POTUS) case, there is nothing stopping that person from doing that action of pardoning himself. And good luck getting Congress or the states to act on this before it actually happens. They cannot even pass a larger stimulus check for unemployed and uninsured people, let alone engage in complex statecraft.

Ugh, so the shitshow gets shittier.
And to think that LEOs could’ve just scooped these crumb bums up while they were inside the building. And that they haven’t done so yet (at least not many of them) while they’re still in DC!
It doesn’t add up. Ever since the beginning when they successfully stormed in, the pushback has seemed throttled, well beyond personal LEO racism or sympathy with the mob’s claims.

I think what this woman is talking about, though, is not supporting children to be thoughtful citizens, though, or helping them to become who they want to be, or some general thing like that. She’s talking about indoctrinating children into right wing philosophies to stop them from going down the “wrong” road (not being racist shitbags). That’s absolutely why she invoked Hitler, because that is precisely what he was trying to do and succeeded to a large degree during the 1930s.

There is literally no reason to attribute common knowledge that is so common that a phrase like “hand that rocks the cradle” has meaning without context to Hitler unless what you are really saying is that you agree with Hitler’s reason for wanting to control the nation’s children and that you would like to control this nation’s children for similar ends.

Right! “Control”! That’s the key word. They want to “control” children. Not raise them. Control them. This is the core of much of white supremacist philosophy, control from the top down, especially of children.

The full context of the tweet being framed as a response to “nit-pickers” who would try to take the comments out of context and say “Well, if you think about it, there’s nothing wrong with the message though, right?” as if she had no other way to deliver that same message without the baggage of fascism and genocide.
