This is so dumb. Sleep paralysis is relatively common in adolescence (what some people call “night terrors”), and has a number of causes, none of which are reading Toni Morrison. 
I used to get it all the time, freaky as all get out sometimes, and never once did I tell my parents about it, nor blame it on literature.
