Tromp will never be able to quit that, unless he’s forced to.

That, right there, is an affront to the art of drag.

Just a bit of levity. Thread:

If only the highlights of his presidency were just the overall stupidity and incompetence versus that combined with death, destruction, and danger.

Wouldn’t it be Melanie?

That just would have been Gerald Ford’s second term.

If there’s just Pence and a bunch of acting-cabinet-bozos, how many people does it take to short form 25?

I’m not surprised but still WTF

Trump plans military-style send-off for himself on Inauguration Day

Is he hoping the tanks and fighter jets will save him in the 11th hour?

Or more like a Colonel Jessup sendoff.

I’m hoping he’s not fleeing some carnage his dingleberries have planned. Shifting to a military base and forgoing the usual public departure on the day of the inauguration is kind of ominous, to me.

Trump will be the first president to skip the inauguration of his successor since 1869, when impeached President Andrew Johnson avoided the ceremony for Ulysses S. Grant. A father-and-son set of presidents - John Adams in 1801 and John Quincy Adams in 1829 - left Washington before the inaugurations of successors Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson.

Good for the old ego, avoiding getting shitcanned in the headlines, I guess. The world hearing about the tragic mess he left things in will be unavoidable, though.

i tried running it through google lens and this is what it came up with:

coincidence?

The president, in Lindell’s account, didn’t even get through the first four pages before sending him out of the room.

Well if he’d done his research, he’d have known that getting him to read four pages is a sign he’s really interested:

I used to go into meetings with a list of four to five things I needed to talk to him about, and I quickly learned that if I got to three, it was a home run, and I realized getting two that were meaningful was probably the best objective. So I began to adjust what I went into a meeting with and what I attempted to explain and describe, and then I started taking charts and pictures with me because I found that those seemed to hold his attention better. If I could put a photo or a picture in front of him or a map or a piece of paper that had two big bullet points on it, he would focus on that, and I could build on that. Just sitting and trying to have a conversation as you and I are having just doesn’t work.

Thanks to @KathyPartdeux for posting that one over in the Trump -Inspired Assholes thread.

That was some much needed levity! I’d forgotten about some of those, and I never saw the original β€œlawnmower boy” image, I had assumed it was a shooped meme. Even funnier.

I think sometimes they might think it’s a kind of β€œeff you” to the transition team, but anyone who’s been involved know that it’s the career folks at the offices who really do all the work. The transition will likely go more smoothly with him gone, so, thanks Alex!

Having just looked through Google images for a match, there are a jillion rings like this. Many more biker-gang / iron cross looking. Could not find this exact one.

Reruns, of refreshing relevance.

" You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super-states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace. This is Mr. Romney Wordsworth, in his last forty-eight hours on Earth. He’s a citizen of the State but will soon have to be eliminated, because he’s built out of flesh and because he has a mind. Mr. Romney Wordsworth, who will draw his last breaths in The Twilight Zone."

The original uncut outro for the episode:

" The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshiped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology which fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man…that state is obsolete. A case to be filed under β€œM” for β€œMankind” - in The Twilight Zone."
