it’s already been held that student free speech rights are limited in a public school setting. im not confident that courts, especially texas courts, will side with public school librarians on this one.

The lawsuit is for 1.5 billion, and iirc, Fox’s parent corp is worth 30 billion. Seems like the latter coild readily enough absorb the former.

Texas SB1443 would ban from school libraries any books that have characters who are of the same sex in a relationship. It also bans trans characters.
in both cases, i think that’s really the point. keep mooting each possibly moot bill until one sticks. in the meantime, use the bills to suppress people’s rights so it doesn’t even matter if the bills were legal or not, because the damage is done
that’s how roe v wade was overturned. not to be too depressing but that was 50 years of effort on their part
