Still in ATX. For now.
Our phased withdrawal from Gilead continues apace.

I think we need to pick up the pace a bit:

the bill states that β€œthe secretary of state shall order a new election if the secretary has good cause to believe that at least two percent of the total number of polling places in the county did not receive supplemental ballots under Section 51.008 for one or more hours after making a request for supplemental ballots to the authority responsible for distributing election supplies.”

handy. so they can short ballots ( like they did in the last election ), then not deliver more, and therefore get to choose the β€œwinner”

that’s some democracy right there

FTA:

The passage of the bill would affect six Texas counties: Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Bexar, Travis, and Collin.

Texas has 254 counties.

But…

Harris County: Houston (Wikipedia)

Harris County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas; as of the 2020 census, the population was 4,731,145,[1] making it the most populous county in Texas and the third most populous county in the United States.

Dallas County: Dallas-Arlington-Fort Worth (Wikipedia)

Dallas County is the second-most populous county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the population was 2,613,539,[1] making it the ninth-most populous county in the country.

Tarrant County: Fort Worth

Tarrant County is located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of 2020, it had a population of 2,110,640. It is Texas’ third-most populous county and the 15th-most populous in the United States.

Bexar County: San Antonio

Bexar County (/bΙ›Ι™r/ BAIR or /ˈbeΙͺΙ™r/ (listen) BAY-Ι™r; Spanish: BΓ©xar [ˈbexaΙΎ])[1][2] is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. It is in South Texas and its county seat is San Antonio.[3]

As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,009,324.[4] Bexar County is included in the San Antonio–New Braunfels, TX metropolitan statistical area. It is the 16th-most populous county in the nation and the fourth-most populated in Texas.

Travis County: Austin

Travis County is located in south central Texas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,290,188. It is the fifth-most populous county in Texas. Its county seat and largest city is Austin,[1] the capital of Texas.

Collin County: Dallas

Collin County is located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan statistical area, and a small portion of the city of Dallas is in the county. At the 2020 United States census, the county’s population is 1,064,465, making it the sixth-most populous county in Texas and the 43rd-largest county by population in the United States.

As long as we Texans who vote in DFW, ATX, San Antonio or Houston don’t mind getting second-guessed, intentionally disenfranchised, having our votes negated (and glory be! you should see how long our lines are on voting day!), our elections should turn out fine here. Yep.

The major urban areas of the state β€” Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas β€” all draw a large number of Democratic voters, though the counties themselves are not quite as solidly Democratic as the border counties.

Of those more urban areas, El Paso and Travis counties lead the pack, with D+26 and D+25, respectively.

Dallas County is at D+17, Bexar County is at D+11, and Harris County is at D+10.

Yeah, going after larger, more diverse counties… how can that NOT be disenfranchisement?

Kinda funny how the rural counties seem to get their ballots just fine.
