Wingnut welfare for Trump leftovers.
i missed seeing this earlier in the week:
Seems a bit redundant.
No surprise. Theyโre all blowhard in the front coward in the back.
we encouraged our supporters to buy all these guns, told them they should use those guns to bully and oppress people with different views, and now weโre afraid they just might!
leopards meet the hyenas
More GOP attacks against inclusion in higher education:
Since past GOP policies pushed more members of marginalized and oppressed groups into poverty, this might not lead to the results they expect. I wouldnโt be surprised if they decide to try ending financial aid completely after they figure that out.
Well, only the elites need to be educated to the highest levels, since they should naturally be ruling societyโฆ College education should only be for the few who can afford itโฆ /s
The USDOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program is the largest and perhaps oldest program in the country.
The entire program is being challenged in court to eliminate it.
The court filing is here for 6 days:

The usual suspects are funding the organization responsible.

The USDOT puts out something like $150 billion in contracts a year - more with the infrastructure bill.
At all levels of government- direct grants to State DOTs, Airports, Transit Agencies. Sub recipient grants to all levels of gov - cities, local bus lines, bike projects, some maritime things.
Tens of billions going to minority and women owned businesses across the country could just evaporate.
Fuck.
Echoed, or cribbed?
Holy shit, he said something I absolutely believe.
If only because he couldnโt, definitely not the original German, almost certainly the translations.
This isnโt about anything new, but more an interesting aspect of how we got here.
ETA: Thereโs a really great bit at the 28:22 mark that starts with Powell voting for Roe v Wade and why he did that considering he was otherwise such a far right conservative. For those who donโt have time to watch it, itโs because of a personal experience he had. So like all conservatives, he had no empathy until something actually happened to him or someone he cared about.
Ive heard that argument IRL. From my sister, who has fallen deep down an Ayn Randian rabbit hole. Something about โknowing their placeโ and โnot reaching above their station.โ The conversation did not end well.
Newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) does not have a bank account.
At least, thatโs what Johnson reports on years of personal financial disclosures, which date back to 2016 and reveal a financial life that, in the context of his role as a congressman and now speaker, appears extraordinarily precarious.
Huge Red Flag.
โI have nothing that you heathens need to know about.โ
Iโm sure this is totally legitโฆ
