โHow can we really, really motivate young voters to the polls? I know!โ I am dumbfounded by these asshats. Truly.
This just cements my view that conservatives canโt imagine a world where they lose power but nothing bad happens to them. Itโs always something they think will happen when in reality most folks want to be left the -bleep- alone.
I can guarantee that approximately zero percent of the people complaining about Lizzo playing that flute had any idea it even existed a few days ago.
Besides, she is a successful and classically trained musician, itโs not like they handed the flute over to some rando. I suspect few people would have raised a fit if someone let Bruce Springsteen strum a few chords on Benjamin Franklinโs guitar.
Kansas
Thatโs what you do when youโre a conqueror. Humiliate the conquered.
Seriouslyโฆ
Bet ya the dude who wrote that makes more than $500K a year, has more than one lavish home, and drives a luxury vehicle made in the last 2 yearsโฆ
Heโs driving Thomas Jeffersonโs crystal convertible. /s
I donโt know whatโs more insane, that Republican legislators believe that taking the position โno, you canโt have your loans forgiven!โ is going to win them more votes or that they might actually be right.
How do they think their economies will fare next to Democrat-run states when people in red states are the only ones left with crushing student loan debt?
Not that the suit will go anywhere. They have no standing. The loans say โFederal Student Loanโ right in the name.
Purely performative.
It would be interesting to see the Biden administration just say โfine, I can respect thatโno loan forgiveness for Republican-led states, as requestedโ just to see how it played out with the public.
I get the feelingโฆ but I donโt like the idea of punishing people trapped in red states by income or family ties. Education might give them a better chance to escape, or at least, to recognize the BS Republicans spew for the malicious propaganda it is. In the long run, more outreach efforts will gain greater results than abandoning people to the wolves.
Yes, the only real upside (apart from schadenfreude for the suffering of Republicans who actually voted against their own interests) would be that it might motivate more people in red states to vote blue.
The thing is, withholding education doesnโt only affect the Republicans, it affects everyone who lives there, including allies and disenfranchised folks. โSticking it to the Repubsโ will do more harm than good.
Obligs:
Yes I agree, I probably could have stated that part more clearly.
This is also why I vehemently disagree with the โletโs just let 'em secede next time!โ crowd.
I know they are evil and want to truly do harm, but Iโm also starting to think of a lot of the R actions like that guy at the party whoโs shouting, โhold me back! hold me back, bruh!โ pretending heโs going to fight if no one holds him back. Even though if no one held him back, heโd just stand there like an idiot bc he doesnโt actually want to fight the other person.
Because they know the Dโs will always be obligated to hold them back.
Fighting their true evil intentions is one thing, but having to squander time battling this performative bullshit is kind of infuriating.
If only we could secede them like it was the Rapture.
